Lewis County Humane Society

The Lewis County Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and receives no regular government funding.  Our work, and animal shelter operations, rely mostly on the generosity of our supporters because shelter expenses far exceed our revenue.  All donations are used to care for the temporarily displaced animals placed in our care. We are extremely thankful for all of the support we receive, and are very proud of the many animal lives we have been able to save. We accept donations in several ways:

Drop Off Supplies
We are always in need of various supplies to care for the animals at the shelter. Please see the Wish List on the right for the current list of items we are in need of. You can also download a printable Wish List here.

Our staff members work very hard to ensure the animals are properly cared for and are always looking for volunteers and fosters to help them in their work.

We need volunteers to help care for the kittens, walk the dogs, do loads of laundry, pile wood, mow the lawn, help with adoption events, and more. Volunteers are always needed! 

Fosters can provide animals a safe loving home away from the shelter while they await adoption.  This helps with their socialization, gets them used to living in a normal home environment, and improves the likelihood of them getting adopted much sooner.  You can fill out a FOSTER APPLICATION here, and email to lewiscountyhumanesociety@gmail.com.

Please consider becoming a member (or renewing your annual membership) of the Lewis County Humane Society. Paid members are eligible to vote at our annual meeting. All membership fees are used to care for the temporarily displaced animals entrusted to us. Click here to download the membership form.
